The TP5KP48CA is a series of Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diodes manufactured by Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. The devices feature an ESD rating of greater than 15kV, an operating temperature range of +85°C to -75°C, and an insulation voltage rating of 5kV. Terminal Layout

Once the voltage reaches its peak value, the parasitic capacitance will begin to discharge, bringing the current and voltage back to their original levels.
