The TP6KE22A series is an array of low-clamped bidirectional diode-connected TVS diodes designed to protect the equipment from transients caused by lightning and other sources. The TVS diode arrays route surge current around a protected circuit and reduce voltage spikes. This helps to protect sensitive open-circuit voltage from breakdown.

Working Principle

The TP6KE22A series TVS diodes are bidirectional and designed to protect against voltage transients. The devices employ avalanche breakdown physics and absorb energy to clamp surge currents. When exposed to a transient voltage, the TVS diodes will quickly switch into a low-resistance state to conduct surge current and reduce voltage spikes. Once the surge is over, the low-resistance state automatically switches back to the high-impedance state. This will protect against future surge events.

The TP6KE22A series TVS diodes are designed to provide fast clamping response times. The devices can withstand repetitive surge currents and handle up to 11A of peak pulse current. The series also offers very low capacitance at 3.8pF and minimal leakage current of 7.0A. The devices are rated to operate at a maximum junction temperature of 175 Celsius and feature UL Listed 1449 surge certification.
