The TPS54202HEVM-716 evaluation board is designed to evaluate the performance of the TPS54202 3A, Forward Mode, Off-Line PWM Controller with Enhanced Current-Mode Control. This board consists of two evaluation modules (EVM\'s) with provision for evaluating various combinations of power supplies.
The TPS54202HEVM-716 utilizes a single TPS54202 control IC, accompanied by seven passive components for voltage, current, and thermal protection in an isolated Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) configuration. This configuration provides the user with the flexibility to choose several different output configurations. Depending on the application field, board users may choose between the flyback or buck topologies for their power supply solution.
For applications such as single- and multiple-output DC-DC converters, the Stacked 2-Phase buck configuration is the preferred choice due to the high efficiency it offers. On the other hand, the Flyback converter is more suitable for applications such as AC-DC converters with low power requirements. As such, the TPS54202HEVM-716 can be used in a wide variety of different applications, depending on the user’s needs and requirements.
The board comes equipped with an optional connector for the DC power input, which provides a power supply from 2V to 24V, to support the operation of the board in the selected configuration.
