Working Principle

The TPS54427DDA operates in regulated, constant on-time, current-mode control. This form of control means that the switching frequency and current limit are both set by the same internal loop. The ripple in the load line due to output filter inductance and the steady-state accuracy of the output voltage are both independent of the output load current. The internal driver and logic levels minimize the external component count in the systems. A programmable Soft-Start function features both sloping and pre-bias voltage options, allowing the user to adjust both the characteristic and the duration of the regulator\'s soft-start.
