Working Principle

When the voltage across the capacitor reaches the set point, the output of the PWM comparator goes low. This turns off the P-MOSFET, stopping the current flow. The inductor releases the energy stored in it as the current decays, causing the capacitor to discharge, maintaining the output voltage at the desired level. The output voltage is set using the integrated 14-bit DAC. An internal voltage reference is also included, allowing for an accuracy of 0.5%. The quiescent current of the TPS54625PWPR is as low as 6.5μA, making it ideal for battery-powered systems.
