The working principle of TPS55010RTER is as follows. First, the feedback voltage is compared with the internal reference voltage. The compensated error signal is then applied to the pulse width modulator that is used to generate a variable on–off pulse to drive an external P-Channel MOSFET pass transistor. The pass transistor is used to convert the input voltage to the desired output voltage. The current in the pass transistor is sensed by an external resistor and fed back to the error amplifier. The output voltage is regulated by comparison to the reference voltage.
