The TPS65560EVM-165 is a multi-channel PMIC evaluation and demonstration board created by high-performance Texas Instruments Incorporation. It is equipped with TPS65560 multi-channel power management integrated circuit (PMIC), TUSB1044A bidirectional multiplexer (MUX), and USB 2.0 controller to deal with the power management solutions for high-end applications. The working principle of TPS65560EVM-165 multi-channel PMIC evaluation and demonstration board is to convert a single voltage input into multiple output voltages of different levels. The TPS65560 PMIC used in the board features programmable switches, current-Limiting, and other innovative features which enable it to generate up to 10 output voltage rails, 3 general-purpose inputs, and 3 faults signals. These voltage sources are then connected to the respective power supplies in the external circuit, that is connected to the board and to each other with the help of the USB 2.0 controller and the TUSB1044A bidirectional multiplexer. Based on user inputs, the TPS65560 PMIC can configure the voltage settings according to the applications and the switchable Mode Selection pins (MS [10:2]) enable this configuration.The operating system monitors the performance of the power management circuit and keeps the voltage within the safe limits and adjustable ranges.
