The TVX2E3R3M series aluminum electrolytic capacitor, released by Panasonic, is an ideal capacitor for energy storage and operating voltage systems in industrial packaging and medical applications. Application Field

The Panasonic TVX2E3R3M series aluminum electrolytic capacitors are designed for industrial and medical usage. They are also used to operate the majority of voltage supplying circuitry in printed circuit board assemblies and are able to provide a reliable source of power even in extreme temperatures such as those encountered in hot and cold weather climates and in vibration-filled environments, enabling uninterrupted operation of industrial and medical equipment.

The TVX2E3R3M capacitors are also used in Solar array systems. Solar cells require large capacitors to store the renewal energy generated by the solar panel. The Panasonic capacitor with its high operating voltage and long life span proves to be an ideal choice for the energy storage application. These capacitors have a high voltage rating of 25V and can survive up to 150,000 hours at its rated voltage.

Working Principle

An aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of an anode (positive terminal) made of aluminum foil covered with an oxide layer and a cathode (negative terminal) made of aluminum foil coated with carbon. The capacitor is powered by the energy in form of DC electric current. The positive side of the capacitor is connected to a power source, causing the current to flow through the capacitor. As the current passes through the capacitor, the oxide layer in the anode causes the aluminum to expand, forming a tube like structure that is filled with an electrolytic solution. This electrolytic solution contains positive ions that attach to the anode, creating a layer of charge.

The negative side of the capacitor is also connected to a power source, which causes the electrons in the electrolyte to move towards the cathode. This results in a buildup of negative charge in the cathode, creating an opposing electromotive force to the positive charge in the anode. This creates a capacitor circuit within the device, storing electrical energy as potential energy.
