What is PFC (Power Factor Correction)? Power Factor Correction (PFC) is a technique used to improve the overall efficiency of power distribution systems by ensuring that the power drawn from the AC mains is drawn as a sinusoidal waveform of the correct phase and magnitude. In other words, it corrects the power factor so that the power drawn from the AC mains is proportional to the amount of real power used by the load. UC3852N is a 100V wide input range integrated power factor correction IC from Texas Instruments.
