It provides a simple solution to regulate the AC line current with a variable pulse width modulated signal.The UC3854DW works by detecting the line voltage and adjusting the pulse with of its output. This adjustable pulse width output signal is used to regulate the power factor of the power supply.The main features of the UC3854DW include constant on-time voltage mode control, adjustable pulse repetition frequency (PRF), pulse skipping operation, low-side average current sensing, integrated 0.35V reference, fast cycle-by-cycle current limiting, temperature-compensated precision reference and voltage start-up.The UC3854DW has an adjustable PRF to limit the output switching frequency during cycle-by-cycle current limiting conditions. The device also has an internal temperature-compensated reference that generates a 0.35-volt reference voltage and an adjustable external reference.The pulse-skipping feature of the UC3854DW is designed to reduce the input power of the power supply, and the input current harmonics.
