Working Principle

The device features a positive high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, an overcurrent protection circuit, an operating temperature monitoring circuit, and a current-sourced phase-frequency detector (PFD). An error amplifier monitors the output voltage and compares it to an external reference voltage. The operating temperature monitoring circuit is used to detect the operating temperature of the UCC28051P. If the PFC device overheats, the device will limit the maximum duty cycle to reduce the switching losses. This will result in a decrease in the output of the power supply.
