The UCC28521EVM evaluation module (EVM) is a highly efficient, non-isolated, synchronous, buck-boost DC/DC converter offering high power density, EMI performance, and dynamic monotonic startup capability. This module is designed to deliver up to 5A continuously at an output voltage of between 3.3V and 24V. It is ideal for car and industrial applications where space is tight, such as automotive audio systems, industrial IoT (IIoT), drones, consumer electronics, gaming consoles, home automation products, power meters, and medical devices. 

The UCC28521EVM takes a wide input voltage range from 4.75V to 60V and adapts it for a regulated output. It utilizes a Continuous-conduction-mode (CCM) buck-boost controller to help achieve higher efficiency levels and faster transient response. The UCC28521EVM operates in a Pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode at the 100kHz frequency.

The module’s high efficiency is due to an improved loop control based on energy-control feedback that monitors the output current. This enables the module to detect and adjust its output current dynamically, leading to improved system performance and power savings.
