UCC2912N - PMIC Hot Swap Controllers
The UCC2912N is a versatile, monolithic power management integrated circuit (PMIC) that has been designed to provide complete protection and control of an electrical system during hot-swap applications. This IC is specifically designed for use in applications such as telecom, server, distributed power, and other critical applications.The UCC2912N is part of the PMIC Hot Swap Controllers family and can be used to control hot swapping, or the insertion and removal of electrical loads and sources, in an active system. It offers superior performance, reliability, and scalability. It also provides a comprehensive protection system that is designed to protect the system, the board, and the end-user from potential damage while hot-swapping is in progress. The UCC2912N features an internal integrated circuit (IC) power-on and power-off controller, which can be used to monitor and control system power during hot-swaps as well as during power-off transitions. Additionally, the UCC2912N can be configured to provide programmable current limit protection that is designed to limit the potential inrush current during hot-swap operations, thereby protecting the end-user from potential damage. The UCC2912N also includes an on-board voltage regulator that is specifically designed to provide power to the other PMICs within the system. The UCC2912N includes a configurable hot-swap control system, allowing for programmable hot-swap start-up and shut-down delay times. These delay times can be set to provide for a gradual ramp up or gradual shut-down of the power supply rail.The UCC2912N includes a wide range of integrated control and protection features that are designed to provide complete control and protection of the system, the board, and the end-user during hot-swap operations. These features include programmable current limit protection, overvoltage protection, reverse voltage protection, programmable power-on delay, programmable soft-start, programmable gate drive current, programmable overcurrent protection, and programmable power-off delay. The UCC2912N also includes an integrated negative voltage supervisor circuit that is designed to monitor and protect the system from negative voltage input. In addition to its integrated control and protection features, the UCC2912N also features a robust software system that is designed to enable a wide range of programming and diagnostic capabilities. This system includes a comprehensive diagnostic (waveform replay) of the PMIC\'s soldered-in components and the system\'s other power-managing components. The system also includes an on-board 10-bit ADC for voltage and temperature sensing, as well as an integrated temperature limiting circuit that is designed to protect the system from overheating.The UCC2912N is a powerful PMIC that is designed for use in a wide range of applications, including telecom, server, distributed power, and other critical applications.
