The UCC2946DTRG4 device requires only two small external ceramic capacitors and an inductor to achieve up to 30A continuous output current in a very small package - 4mm x 6mm x 0.8mm. An integrated high-side low-side voltage detector allows dynamic detection of overvoltage, undervoltage and over current conditions. Furthermore, an additional monotonic interface provides for multiple stages of fault protection and allows for improved system stability. Moreover, dynamic voltage positioning allows for improved light-load efficiency by transitioning to forced PWM mode when the load decreases. This enables the device to reduce the effective switching frequency, which reduces the power losses while maintaining the same output voltage.Overall, the UCC2946DTRG4 device offers advanced integrated power management solutions that are ideal for high power applications where space saving, high efficiency and reliability are of importance.
