Features

The UCC2946TPWRQ1 integrates a few major features that make it unique among other supervisors. It has an adjustable digital timer to accurately control the on- and off-times. The integrated digital timer is programmable through the voltage applied on its RES pin to adjust the on time and off time. With its low power consumption, the UCC2946TPWRQ1 is capable of operating with power supply voltages ranging from 2.5 V to 5.5 V. The high-level sensing also helps to maintain a low output voltage during inrush current.

Working Principle

The UCC2946TPWRQ1 has two operating modes, sequential and concurrent. In sequential mode, the Power-On-signal (P-ON) is supplied at the rising edge of the RESET pin. In this mode, P-ON stays low until the RESET pin is released at the rising edge of P-ON. This will start the Power-On Sequence, consisting of the digital timer and the FET output stage. The digital timer initiates the Power-On Sequence for a pre-determined time and then sends the signal to the FET output stage. This initiates the power up of the voltage regulator.In concurrent mode, the P-ON and RESET pins are driven in parallel and the internal window comparator is used to detect the threshold conditions. The internal digital timer is then used to control the outputs based on the voltage threshold values. The UCC2946TPWRQ1 also offers integrated surge protection and other fault protection circuitry in order to protect the system against damage due to unexpected external or internal conditions.
