Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in modern electronics industry due to their small size, high capacitance, low cost and convenient usage. As an advanced aluminum electrolytic capacitor, UFW1V331MPD (SNAP ON TERMINAL TYPE) capacitors feature its high capacitance, high temperature endurance, and very small package size, which enable its application in many different fields.In order to understand the application field and working principle of UFW1V331MPD capacitors, a brief introduction of its internal structure is needed. Unlike most ordinary ordinary electronic capacitor, an electrolytic capacitor consist of an anode, two layers of dielectric insulating material, a cathode, and a conductive liquid electrolyte inside. It has an aluminum foil on its anode, a paper or plastic sheet on its cathode, and an electrolyte inside that are all sealed in a container. By these structure, the capacitor provides a large capacitance value and the container provides a strong airtight roughness measure which can withstand a certain amount of pressure.The application fields of UFW1V331MPD capacitors include circuit protectors, noise suppression in audio/video circuits and power supply ripple filters. As a circuit protector, this aluminum electrolytic capacitor provides better protection from short circuit and over-current than conventional metal-oxide varistors (MOVs). As for noise suppression, UFW1V331MPD capacitors provide higher noise filtering efficiency than wire wound capacitors. Lastly, power supply ripple filters can be implemented in power supplies to depress power supply ripple, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors such as UFW1V331MPD may provide a better damping efficiency than other electrical components.The operating principle of UFW1V331MPD capacitors follows the same principle as most conventional electrolytic capacitors. Once DC voltage is applied between the anode and the cathode, a built-in diode will be activated and it will prevent the external reverse voltage from entering the internal. On the other hand, the positive ions of the electrolyte will react with the aluminum foil when positive voltage is applied, thus forming an oxide film on the aluminum foil. This oxide film acts as a separator to serve as a dielectric with a high dielectric constant, and thus a capacitance can be achieved. The oxide film also prevents the leakage current, thus providing greater stability to the capacitance value. Another feature of UFW1V331MPD capacitors is the higher rated voltage of up to 50V, that compared to other conventional electrolytic capacitors.In conclusion, the UFW1V331MPD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a ideal choice for circuit protection, noise suppression and power supply ripple filter, due to its features of high capacitance, temperature endurance, stability and higher rated voltage.
