The ULN2075B is an array of eight high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistors. It is designed to interface for high-voltage, high-current and low-voltage, low-current applications. The ULN2075B can be used in applications like relays, analog circuit design, power line protection, power conversion, motor control, interfacing and signal conditioning.

Typical applications of ULN2075B include motor control, power line and power cycle protection, controlling of relays, magnetic relays, and similar devices. The ULN2075B component can also drive loads such as solenoids, lamps, AC inductive loads, and motors. In many cases it provides a simple, cost effective way to interface logic signals to relatively large loads.

The ULN2075B contains eight individual Darlington transistor arrays with integral suppression diodes to reduce turn-on and turn-off transients. Each Darlington pair consists of a monolithic Darlington pre-driver and output transistor pair. The components have a wide operating voltage range of 2.7 to 30V and are capable of sinking 500mA. The parts are also characterized for 400mA continuous sinking current.

The ULN2075B is built on an 8-pin SOP (Small Outline Package) and each Darlington pair has an open collector output. All outputs are protected against back EMF, transients, and shorts to ground. The ULN2075B combines low amperage operation and efficient use of circuitry, while allowing a degree of flexibility to be achieved with the device.

The ULN2075B works by using two separate transistors. A high-side transistor is usually used for the output stage, which is connected to the load.
