The UUH1C222MNQ1MS is one of the popular Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, which are characterized by their voltage operating range, high capacitance and long life.Structure and Principal of OperationAluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are constructed from a solid electrolyte of aluminum oxide in a cylindrical can with two electrical conductive leads. The capacitor is filled with an electrolyte composed of an acid solution and a source of ions, such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. The two electrical conductive leads are the anode and cathode of the capacitor. The cathode is made of aluminum foil which acts as a current collector. The anode is made of aluminum metal which acts as the electrical field for the capacitor.The capacitance of the capacitor is determined by the area of the aluminum foil, the distance between the two electrical conductive leads and the dielectric strength of the solid galvanic oxide. When a voltage is applied across the capacitor, the electrical field of the anode causes an electric current to flow across the metal aluminum oxide dielectric and create an opposite charge on the cathode. This opposite charge creates a static electrical capacity which is known as capacitance.
