Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor composed of a thin aluminum foil anode with an etched surface, and an electrolyte-soaked paper separator, in a cylindrical housing with a metal top cap with a connecting lead. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one of the most common type of capacitors found in electronic devices and are used for decoupling and filtering applications. They are typically non-polarized and feature a wide operating temperature range.

UVR1H2R2MDD6TP Application Field and Working Principle

UVR1H2R2MDD6TP aluminum electrolytic capacitors are generally used in switch power, power supply, TV, VCR, audio, computers and other electronics industries. UVR1H2R2MDD6TP aluminum electrolytic capacitors feature an anodic layer, a double-layer dielectric, a zinc-coated steel shell and an insulating sleeve. The anodic layer is formed by oxidizing an anode aluminum foil. The double-layer dielectric consists of a thin film of electrolyte and an oxide layer, and the zinc-coated steel shell provides a long-term strength and reliability. The insulating sleeve and metal top cap help providing insulation and prevent moisture from entering the capacitor.

The working principle of the UVR1H2R2MDD6TP aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on the process of electrolytic decomposition. When the capacitor is connected to an external voltage source, an anode current will flow out of the anode, causing an oxide layer to form on the surface of the anode aluminum foil, which serves as the dielectric of the capacitor. The oxide layer serves to separate the anode and cathode and plays an important role in preventing electrical shorts. As the anode foil is oxidized and the oxide layer is formed, electrons accumulate on the anode and create an electrical field within the capacitor. This creates a potential difference between the anode and the cathode, allowing electric current to flow through the capacitor when the applied voltage is high enough.

In addition, a high operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C can be achieved with the UVR1H2R2MDD6TP aluminum electrolytic capacitor. This wide temperature range makes them a suitable choice for power supply, consumer electronics and automotive applications. UVR1H2R2MDD6TP aluminum electrolytic capacitors also have a high rated ripple current (60 times the rated current) and a long product life (up to 5000 hours).
