It is housed in a TO-8 package which is can be easily mounted onto printed circuit board. This photodiode has a wide spectral range from 900 to 1700 nm. The active area of the VEMD5010X01 is 3x3mm which is bigger than typical PIN photodiode of this type. The dynamic range of this device is better than other PIN photodiodes, with a breakdown voltage of -6V.The working principle of VEMD5010X01 is based on the photovoltaic effect.
