The optoisolators provide random- and repetitive-pulse applications.
The optoisolator series VO4254D-X007T is based on GaAs infrared-emitting diodes and a triggered thyristor (TCT), with its features such as high reliability, long life expectancy, low cost, and easy-to install. Those optoisolators are designed for full-cycle operation and feature a maximum operating voltage of 700V with 6 A peak output electrical load capability. The optoisolators can be used as lighting and appliance control systems, motor control systems, relays and contactors control, and heating and cooling systems.
The working principle of VO4254D-X007T optoisolator is based on an amplifying detector connected to a TCT, guaranteeing long-term, fault-free operation. When UV light from the IR emitter diode is received by the detector (which supports a maximum operation voltage up to 1000V), the electrical signal is amplified and the TCT is driven on. The TCT current flow path is then interconnected to the power device, allowing current to flow through it, leading to switching on and off applications. The minimum driving voltage of 6V is guaranteed to ensure a minimum necessary voltage to switch on and off TCT.
Within the optoisolator, an integrated resistor generates pre-trigger voltage and charges a capacitor, generating a time-delay triggered voltage. By varying this pre-trigger resistor, two different output voltages can be achieved: 100V and 150V. This allows the optoisolators to support various applications, such as lamps and bulbs, incandescent lights, and even small motors.
The optoisolators feature low power consumption, making them ideal for cost-sensitive applications. The device is self-protected against overvoltage, short-circuit, and fault conditions.
