When a transient voltage event occurs, this device rapidly responds and attempts to clamp the voltage transient to a safe level. The VTVS36GSMF-HM3-08 is designed to operate in a 2-panel configuration in which the anode is connected to one panel and the cathode is connected to the other panel. For optimum performance, the anode should be connected to the higher voltage panel and the cathode should be connected to the lower voltage panel. The VTVS36GSMF-HM3-08 is offered in leaded or surface mount packages and come in a variety of polarity configurations.The VTVS36GSMF-HM3-08 is rated for 36V and offers a peak pulse power of 60 watts at +104°C. It also offers a low dynamic resistance with a clamping voltage of 24V (@Ipp=1.2A). This device exhibits excellent clamping performance over the extended temperature range of -55°C~+150°C. It also features low leakage current of not greater than 5uA, making it suitable for both high speed and low speed data line protection applications.The VTVS36GSMF-HM3-08 is also designed with cathode-direct technology, which reduces the areas of physical contact between the components and increases their reliability over time.
