X5083PIZ-2.7A is a supervisory circuit that allows the monitoring of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and other system reset ICs. It is used to provide an extra layer of protection against system reset failures that could lead to unanticipated system behavior or even catastrophic failure.

This device ensures that the reset signal is always active, regardless of the conditions of power supply voltages, EMI, or system clock frequency. It features low power consumption, wide operating temperature range, and low standby current. It is designed for use within electronic systems requiring good reliability and system reset accuracy.

The X5083PIZ-2.7A can provide active low RESET, active low RESET#, active high Brown-out Detection, active low POR, active high Power-Good, and active high Reset# outputs. These outputs are all individually configurable for their reset thresholds. All outputs are non-maskable and may be utilized individually, or combined in an OR configuration.

The device monitors power supplies and is capable of detecting power fluctuations. When the detection of an issue occurs, the RESET active low output is immediately specified. This output is used to reset the microcontroller or microprocessor, thus protecting the system. This RESET is guaranteed with any supply voltage between 2.2V and 4.1V, while operating temperature range is from -45°C to 125°C.

Another featured output of the X5083PIZ-2.7A is the RESET# active low. This output has a delay time of 1ms, fixed at 90% of the VCC voltage, and is used as a signal issued to prevent negative pulse spikes on the RESET line. It must never be left open and should always be tied to VCC or any other known level. This signal should be used to trigger an action upon reset.

The active high Brown-out Detection output monitors voltage level and issues an alarm signal if the voltage goes below the threshold (typically around 1.70V). This signal is used to detect situations with low voltage conditions in the system.  

The active low Power-on-Reset or POR output is typically monitored and will be active high when the VCC reaches a minimum functional voltage. Typically, if the voltage drops below 3.15V, the device indicates a reset. This output is used to indicate when the power supply voltage has recovered after a fault condition.

Lastly, the active high Power Good output is used to indicate when the power supply has reached an appropriate voltage level. Once the voltage has exceeded an acceptable voltage threshold, the output will change from low to high. It is used to indicate that all the peripherals connected to the system have been successfully initialized and ready for usage.
