XR33055IDTR-F Application Field and Working Principle

The XR33055IDTR-F is an integrated dual-channel transceiver, operating from 6 fC to 45 fC, with a wide operating voltage range between 2.5V and 5.5V. It is ideal for interfacing a wide variety of digital logic families and is particularly suited for battery-operated applications which require low power consumption. This device is designed primarily for industrial and automotive applications, and is capable of transmitting digital signals over cables and wireless links.

It operates by using a regulated oscillator and a clock signal to drive the internal Logic Data Buffer (LDB) which stores the signal data. The LDB is connected to the input via the data signal and to output pins via the Transmit Enable pins. The logic signal is inverted while it is transmitted. The XR33055IDTR-F can support up to three standard logic levels brought in from an input signal, plus an Open Drain signal, for a total of four possible logic level transitions.

The incoming signal is first converted to an internal binary format and stored in the LDB. The converter then uses the clock signal to control the LDB and sequentially drive the output pins. The output pins will produce the same inverted signal as the incoming signal. The output data can then be transmitted to the destination device.

The transmitter section of the XR33055IDTR-F includes a switching circuit which tables the number of logic transitions in each input data bit. The transmitter section also includes a transmission rate that can be adjusted for various data transmission speeds, depending on the type of data being transmitted. This device has a maximum achievable data rate of 1 Mbps.

The receiver section is similar to the transmitter in the sense that it contains a data buffer, an oscillator and a clock signal to receive the incoming data and decode it into an acceptable binary format. This device is capable of receiving and decoding signals from up to three logic levels, plus the Open Drain signal.
