The ZTX948 is a single-bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) made with a Darlington technology which rotates the electrical current multiple times. As such, it is a type of amplification device which uses 3 terminals called emitter, base and collector. It is most suited for commutation, motor control and power applications.

The ZTX948 has a wide range of use in different applications such as output buffers, digital-to-analog converters, low frequency oscillators, Zigbee transceivers, radio transceivers, switching power supplies and many more. Based on the configuration and the physical structure of the device, ZTX948 is suitable for low and medium power applications.

The ZTX948 works on the principle of current amplification. Electrons from the emitter electrode flow to the base and when the base-emitter junction is forward biased, the current will flow through the collector.
