LM317LBZG Application Field and Working Principle

LM317LBZG is a type of Linear Voltage Regulator from Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC). It is basically a three-terminal positive voltage regulator that can provide output voltage between 1.2V and 37V. This adjustable voltage regulator is available in TO-220 and TO-263 packages with over-temperature protection and thermal shutdown capability. The differential amplifier senses the voltage drop across the load, then adjusts the current through the NPN and PNP transistors thus changing the output voltage to maintain the desired output voltage.
