BQ24168RGET is a primary-side synchronous, constant-frequency and high-resolution adaptive power supply controller. This chip is designed with low external component count, and they have excellent performance in power conservation, standby power, and transient response and other aspects. At the same time, it integrates all the required protection functions, making it suitable for use in a wide range of applications. The most common application area is - PMIC - Battery Chargers.BQ24168RGET is different from the traditional linear regulation, it uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to convert unregulated input power directly into regulated output power. PWM is a process in which a series of high and low voltage pulses are used to regulate the power flowing from the power source to the load, and it’s the most common method of power control. In addition, the chip is also equipped with an inner Green Light Boost circuit, which can quickly deliver power to the battery when the VBUS voltage is high. The core of the working principle lies in the secondary-side synchronous, constant-frequency and ultra-high resolution control (TPS-LVCMOS) technology, where the output voltage is adjusted according to the voltage of the battery and the level of the VBUS signal, and then to the load. To achieve precise control, the BQ24168RGET chip uses a high-speed constant current/voltage sampling circuit with a resolution of +/-20mV, and can adjust the output voltage of the chip with great precision.
