Diodes - Rectifiers - Arrays: 12CTQ035S Application field and Working PrincipleA 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array is a two-level, three-phase configuration consisting of two unidirectional controlled rectifiers sharing a common cathode (CK). It is designed to provide high current rectification in industrial machines, and can help to reduce the power loss when driving loads that have a high dV/dt ratio. The rectifier arrays can use up to 3.5V and are suitable for applications where high current, low power loss and low EMI are required.The 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array can be used to provide power to a wide range of applications including power distribution, motor drives and industrial automation. The array can be used to drive high power ac and dc motors, with the high current capability providing fast dynamic response. It also offers overload protection in case of a short circuit, and fault protection from reverse voltage.The 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array operates by allowing current to flow in one direction (forward conduction), whilst blocking current in the reverse direction (reverse blocking). The device has two controlled rectifiers in the design, with alternating current (AC) changing polarity each half-cycle. This ensures that the current being delivered to the load is smooth.The working principle of the 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array is based on the concept of diode rectification. A diode consists of two layers, one of which is a P-type semiconductor and the other an N-type semiconductor. When the anode of the diode is connected to a voltage source, electrons move from the N-type semiconductor to the P-type semiconductor. The electrons then flow to the anode and the current flow is blocked in the opposite direction.The 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array is composed of two controlled rectifiers. The two controlled rectifiers are connected in antiparallel and share a common cathode. During one half-cycle of the alternating current, the two rectifiers alternately switch between the forward and reverse conduction mode. This ensures that the current delivered to the load is smooth and regulated.In addition to its rectification capabilities, the 12CTQ035S Rectifier Array is also able to provide over-voltage protection, as it can detect an increase in voltage and reduce the current before the voltage reaches unsafe levels.
