Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT) have become increasingly important in industrial, commercial and consumer markets over the past decade due to their versatility and usefulness in protecting sensitive electronic equipment from the damaging effects of transient electrical disturbances. The first stage of the GDT reduces the voltage, and the next stage completely blocks the surge\'s passage. This pattern is repeated as the surge travels through the various GDT stages.
