Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT)

Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT), commonly known as gas surge protectors, are designed to protect electrical and electronic devices against transient overvoltage and lightning strikes. GDTs are a type of voltage-limiting device, which uses a bulb filled with a gas which absorbs electrical energy from surges and lightning strikes, dissipating the energy as heat. This act of dissipating electrical energy keeps any spikes or damage from occurring to the protected device.
