Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in commercial and industrial applications due to their relatively aggressive properties which make them ideal for storing a temporary charge. These capacitors are typically composed of rolled foil anode, liquid electrolyte stored in the anode, a dielectric separator including paper, oil, or ceramic materials, and a foil or ceramic cathode.
