Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are a type of capacitor that is commonly used in a wide variety of applications such as filtering, power electronics, and other applications where a high-capacity storage device is desired. Unlike other types of capacitors such as ceramic and tantalum capacitors, the electrolyte of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor does not dry out unlike air-filled capacitors, beacuse the liquid electrolyte forms a barrier between the two plates. This is especially useful in high temperature environments widely seen in power management and other industrial applicatons. This type of capacitor is also stable and reliable even under extreme temperatures.
