Working Principle

The AD5735ACPZ features a low-power, high-resolution 16-bit DAC whose output current is integrated with an internal op-amp. The output signal can be digitally programmed from 0 Vdc to 10 Vdc in 16-bit increments by writing to the device through the serial interface.

The internal signal path consists of a digital state machine, voltage reference, clock synthesizer, current integrator, and control logic that maintain update accuracy and enable rapid settling time. An internal 2.5 V precision voltage reference is also provided. The positive input is connected to this reference and allows the output signal to be programmed up to 10 Vdc.

The AD5735ACPZ also has the ability to power-down the DAC section, thus eliminating the need to power-down the device when no output signal is required. This allows for optimized power dissipation and improved performance.
