The ADG413BR is an integrated, bidirectional, monolithic, CMOS analog switch and multiplexer/demultiplexer specifically designed to offer low on-resistance and low off- leakages, making it an ideal choice for analog switching applications. It is an integrated single device containing an array of 6 independent switches with double-pole/ double-throw (DPDT) configuration and can be used to connect one of the two ports at a time.
The ADG413BR is designed to provide low RON and high off-leakage performance in order to increase and maintain signal integrity in a wide range of switching applications such as cross-connection, signal routing, analog multiplexing/demultiplexing, and video and audio switching. The device navigation architecture consists of a separate, bidirectional, switched unipolar voltage level translation, allowing the host processor to program the correct switch. This integrated device also incorporates a low-voltage SOT23-6, SOIC-8 and TSSOP-8 package options, sealed in a built-in low-k dielectric insulation and featuring low input bias currents, making it an ideal choice for general purpose switching applications.
The working principle of the ADG413BR can be described in three parts: input, switching, and output. It is designed to accept unipolar (single voltage) digital inputs. When the input voltage is logic "low" (GND), the device will open its switch, allowing two ports to communicate. When the input voltage is logic "high" (3V to 18V), the device will close its switch, preventing any communication between the two ports. The output is not affected by the switch setting and remains the same as the input.
The ADG413BR contains 6 independently controlled switches, allowing it to be configured in multiple ways; as a single-pole 8-throw switch, a dual-pole 4-throw switch, or a triple-pole 2-throw switch. Multiplexing applications take advantage of the 3 independent switch connections that the ADG413BR has, allowing for an increase in input/output channel capacity and flexibility. The ADG413BR is especially useful in digital-analog conversion circuits, as the multiplexer can be used to select and route the appropriate digital signals to their corresponding analog analog input.
