ADG417BR is an analog switch family that provides high performance, low power, low charge injection and flexible signal-switching capabilities. It is analog switch family performance is optimized for many advanced video, imaging and communication systems. These devices feature low on-resistance and typically low power consumption, lower charge injection and fast settling time. It provides stable operation for applications requiring dc or low frequency operation. ADG417BR is a 4-channel, single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch array, each switch having a 10 pF capacitive load and an on-resistance of typically 0.5 ohms for both directions of the switch as well as an off-state leakage current of <1 nA. An enable input pin is provided to turn on and off all the switches in one go. ADG417BR operates on single supply of 4.5 V and is available in SOIC and MSOP packages. The family comes with power up and down control sequences to reduce inrush current, thereby reducing system cost and complexity. ADG417BR offers a variety of applications, including automatic test equipment and instrumentation, speakers, audio cables, video interconnects, sensors, data and control buses, and a variety of other products involving analog data and control signals.The working principle of ADG417BR relies on three main elements: a diode, a switch, and an enable input pin. The diode is used to ensure that current does not flow in an undesirable direction when the switch is opened. The switch consists of two connections – source and drain – between which a voltage can be applied and removed through the enable pin. The enable pin is used to control the flow of current through the switch, by turning the switch on or off.
