Overview of the ADC513BRZ-REEL

The ADG513BRZ-REEL is an 8-channel multiplexer/demultiplexer designed with a single I/O per channel. It is composed of aCMOS analog switch, providing 8 non-blocking analog switches and four non-inverting digital output multiplexers. An external clock and enable control inputs are also provided.The non-blocking analog switches are designed to switch signals up to 6V with very low distortion and low switching distortion. In addition, the ADG513BRZ-REEL offers low-crosstalk characteristics and high signal-to-noise ratio due to its CMOS architecture. The signal handling signal width is 2.8V to 6V, while the analog signal handling frequency range is up to 120kHz.

The ADG513BRZ-REEL works by selecting one out of its 8 channels and switching the desired signal to its output with the help of the external clock and enable input.The clock input sets up the device’s switching time – for a high-to-low transition on the clock input, the ADG513BRZ-REEL selects the channel with the next largest number (1 through 8). For a low-to-high transition on the clock input, the device selects the channel with the next largest number (1 through 8).The enable input allows the ADG513BRZ-REEL to be directly controlled by the digital logic, enabling or disabling the multiplexer/demultiplexer. If the enable input is high the ADG513BRZ-REEL is enabled, and the outputs are updated according to the clock input.The multiplexer/demultiplexer can also be used in conjunction with digital filters or digital-to-analog converters to route selected signals through the filter or converter.
