The ADG736BRMZ-REEL is a monolithic integrated device designed to provide a high speed precision setting single-pole-double throw (SPDT) switch which operates from a single power supply. This component belongs to a family of products classified as Interface - Analog Switches, Multiplexers, Demultiplexers. The wide range of available peripheral devices suitable for use with the switch includes detectors, converters, drivers, 15nsec CMOS Logic gates and selectors of up to 24 or 32 bits.
The ADG736BRMZ-REEL switch is designed to operate from a single 5V or 3V supply without the need for an external rail-to-rail buffer. The on-board analog switch allows it to transition from logic one to logic zero in about 15nsec as its control voltage changes. Its low power consumption and low switch on-resistance (< 10 Ohms) make it ideal for various applications in medical, automatic test equipment, instrumentation, industrial automation and telecommunications.
The ADG736BRMZ-REEL contains two high-speed, low-power analog switches. One switch provides a low impedance path between an input and an output while the other can be used to route signals to either the same output or to a different output. The ADG736BRMZ-REEL also features an automatic power-saving mode, allowing it to be used in a variety of applications. Additionally, it includes a power-on reset circuit, which ensures that the output is always in the logic low state when the power is applied.
The working principle of the ADG736BRMZ-REEL is quite simple. When the control voltage is low, the on-resistance of the switch is low. As the control voltage increases, the on resistance increases and thus the switch passes the signal from its input to the output. The package size of this device is 12 lead, plastic DIP which allows for easier installation in existing circuit boards. This device is also available in other package sizes such as 14 lead SOIC allowing for surface mount installation.
