ADIS16265/PCBZ is a versatile inertial measurement (IMU) for orientation control, vibration monitoring, navigation, and structural stability measurement applications. The device supports a range of advanced capabilities, such as 16-bit resolution, temperature measurement via the on-board thermistor, vibration damage rate monitoring, motion vector calculation and a wide range of sensitivities that can be individually configured to meet customer-specific requirements.
The ADIS16265/PCBZ Evaluation Board is a cost-effective solution to evaluating the performance of the ADIS16265 and the on-board PCBZ capability. The evaluation board includes the full range of features the ADIS16265 offers including 16bit resolution, support for up to three accelerometer axes, support for one gyroscope, and a thermistor input. The ADIS16265/PCBZ PCBZ includes a USB interface for configuration, control, and data streaming.
The ADIS16265/PCBZ features on-board active noise cancellation and high resolution signal processing, which makes it an ideal solution for implementing advanced motion tracking and navigation sensors. The device is designed to operate in a wide range of applications, including robotic platforms, drones, augmented and virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles.
The ADIS16265/PCBZ utilizes an on-board MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU) to detect changes in physical orientation as it travels. Based on a three-axis accelerometer, the IMU uses accelerometer signals to determine the angular velocity, linear acceleration, and linear velocity of the device. Additionally, the IMU can detect changes in air pressure (altitude), force, and angular velocity.
The ADIS16265/PCBZ integrates an on-board PCBZ processor which allows for the real-time estimation of inertial orientation parameters. By making use of Kalman filtering, an algorithm that accounts for multiple variables such as orientation, orientation rate, angular acceleration, linear acceleration, linear velocity, and angular velocity, the ADIS16265/PCBZ can accurately determine device’s orientation and control it in real-time.
The evaluation board utilizes USB communication allowing developers to quickly and easily configure, debug, and monitor their applications. By connecting the ADIS16265/PCBZ Evaluation Board to a computer, users can access a dedicated GUI application for controlling the device, store and review data, and observe in real-time the changes made to the parameters of the board.
The ADIS16265/PCBZ Evaluation Board is designed to be used in development and verification processes in order to evaluate and validate an embedded application. Since the board is highly configurable and feature rich, developers benefit from a decrease in the development time of their application.
