Evaluating the performance of sensors improves the reliability of systems using them. The EVAL-ADIS2Z is a family of evaluation system boards providing access to all the digital and analog resources of Sensonor’s STIM210 ultra-high-precision gyroscope system in an easy-to-use manner. The EVAL-ADIS2Z has been designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern sensor development by providing an easy-to-use, yet extremely flexible evaluation and design platform.
The EVAL-ADIS2Z evaluation system boards enable engineers to evaluate, test and develop sensors with confidence. With up to 3 axes of motion, the EVAL-ADIS2Z system can easily handle both low and high rate motion measurements. The evaluation boards also feature a range of software and hardware tools to help to quickly bring sensing system applications up-to-speed. An on-board processor-based controller enables the user to download programs and perform a range of functions.
The EVAL-ADIS2Z works by providing access to the analog sensor signals via low-noise analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to allow for user-configurable digital sampling rates up to 45k samples/s. The evaluation board contains an FPGA to provide the real-time measurements of the analog sensor outputs including temperature, pressure, angular rate, and tilt. This FPGA is also used to provide SERDES enabling systems to transmit the data over wired communication links. The board includes GPIOs to provide an interface to external control or instruction signals, as well as for adding generation and control of additional signals. Other features for sensor development include the ability to power the sensor from the EVAL-ADIS2Z board using three separate power rails.

The boards also support development of sensor firmware and software, as well as the ability to test a variety of input signals including analog, digital, optical, and acoustic.
