The ADIS16305AMLZ is a top-of-the-line motion sensor gyroscope from Analog Devices. It is part of the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) portfolio, specifically designed for applications that require high accuracy and high bandwidth. This includes inertial navigation, guidance and control systems and navigation systems used in aerospace, military and commercial applications.The ADIS16305AMLZ is a highly sensitive six degree of freedom inertial measurement system. It features two gyros, three accelerometers, three quaternion measurements and a temperature sensor for high precision measurements. The two gyros measure angular rate along the three axes; the three accelerometers measure acceleration along the three axes; the quaternion measurements measure attitudes; and the temperature sensor measures temperature.The ADIS16305AMLZ is designed for high accuracy, low latency, and wide dynamic range measurements and offers a wide variety of programmable features and settings to match the requirements of the application. The device features an adaptive low pass filter with auto-variable bandwidth, selectable filter windows, a low noise amplifier with signal conditioning, an adjustable resolution for each axis, and a 16-bit digital output.The ADIS16305AMLZ utilizes an open-loop gyroscope sensing principle. In this principle, a rotating mass, called the gyroscope flywheel, is placed inside the device housing. The flywheel is either mechanically or electronically rotated and the angular rate of the flywheel is measured by the sensing element within the device. The angular rate is then transformed into an electrical signal which is processed and converted into the desired output.The ADIS16305AMLZ is also designed to be very reliable and stable with a very long-term accuracy due to its all-silicon construction. The device is also designed to be resistant to common forces of vibration or shock which makes it suitable for a variety of applications.As a motion sensor gyroscope, the ADIS16305AMLZ is built for applications that require accurate, high-speed angle measurement. Its flexibility and adaptability make it an ideal solution for navigation, guidance and control systems in a wide variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, and more.
