ADIS16400/PCBZ Application Field and Working Principle
Generally, ADIS16400/PCBZ evaluation boards are used for inertial measurement unit data evaluation, board system testing, and performance verification. The working principle of ADIS16400/PCBZ evaluation board is to measure the angular velocity and acceleration of motion in three orthogonal directions (in other words, three axes) from the inertial measurement unit and convert this data into electrical signals. This device combines a three-axis accelerometer, a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis magnetometer, a pressure sensor, and an onboard Digital Signal Processing (DSP) processor with powerful processing abilities.
The three axes of the accelerometer measure the dynamic acceleration of motion. The sensor allows you to detect the presence of gravity even when the board is stationary. Furthermore, the three axes of the gyroscope measure angular velocity which helps you to precisely determine direction of motion. Additionally, The three axes of the magnetometer measure earth’s magnetic field for direction of north.
The pressure sensor measures barometric pressure, altitude, and temperature. It also features a microcontroller for logging and controlling data. This microcontroller has a high level of precision and accuracy in analog to digital and digital to analog conversions. Furthermore, the ADIS16400/PCBZ features a wide voltage range, high sample rate, and support for multiple connection types.
Additionally, the ADIS16400/PCBZ evaluation board also supports some digital communication protocols such as SPI or I2C.
