ADP1851-EVALZ are evaluation boards that are used in DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is a fast, easy and highly efficient solution for testing applications.

The ADP1851-EVALZ is a modular power supply evaluation board. This board easily interface with a digital controller, allowing for testing of various DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS designs. It includes various protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and thermal overload protection.

The ADP1851-EVALZ operates at a range of 50 V to 600 V input voltage for AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS design and 5 V to 30 V for DC/DC SMPS design and offers maximum output power of 6 W and maximum switching frequency of 1 MHz. The design supports up to 20 A of load at −40°C to +85°C ambient temperature.

The ADP1851-EVALZ has two main components: main board and driver board. The main board is connected to a line voltage source, while the driver board is connected to the main board and is used for controlling the output switching frequency, current, voltage, and other parameters. The main board is pre-populated with standard components and connectors for the testing of various applications.

In DC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS design, the ADP1851-EVALZ provides a fixed-frequency operating mode. The main board is pre-programmed to operate in zero current switching mode with adjustable fan-off voltage and a fixed overvoltage protection level. A variety of digital control parameters are available, including dead time, pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency, voltage control, and overcurrent protection. The evaluation board also supports adjustable soft-start and adjustable overvoltage protection levels.

In AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS design, the ADP1851-EVALZ offers both continuous-conduction and fixed-frequency operating modes. In continuous-conduction mode, the board is pre-programmed to operate with adjustable overvoltage protection levels, adjustable dead time, adjustable frequency settings, and adjustable soft-start. The board also supports digital control of circuit components such as output voltage and current.
