The ADS58C23IPFP consists of three sections: the Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), the Power Amplifier (PA), and the Coupling network. The Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) portion of the device utilizing a low noise active BiCMOS process has a typical noise figure (NF) of 0.50dB at 1GHz and a gain of 17dB. It can be configured to operate from DC to 3GHz. The LNA also provides an integral power-down feature which can be used for power saving. The Power Amplifier (PA) portion has high power handling capability and can provide up to +25dBm of linear output power, while drawing very low current of only 1.5mA. It also has a built-in thermal shutdown feature, so it can protect the device inside the amplifier from possible damage due to excessive thermal buildup. The Coupling Network is used to control the generated output power and creates impedance matching for the device when attached to the antenna.
