The AN8006M-E1 is a linear, three-terminal, positive voltage regulator integrated circuit primarily intended for low power application fields, such as personal computers and consumer electronic applications. It is designed to provide reliable and efficient voltage regulation, offering excellent line and load regulation, even current loading and rise time characteristics. This part also features built-in overvoltage and overcurrent protection to offer improved stability and prevent damage from excessive voltage and current irregularities.
The AN8006M-E1 features a wide input voltage range of 3.0V to 24V rated, and has an adjustable output voltage setting range of 2.5V to 24V, enabling a wide range of voltage regulation needs to be met. It has a temperature operating range between 0℃ and 85℃, and has a maximum input current of 2A. It is provided in a 8-lead SOP package with pins located on an 1.27mm pitch.
The AN8006M-E1 incorporates an internal power switch that drives an external free-wheeling N-Channel MOSFET for improved energy efficiency. This part features a built-in 1 ms softstart, low power shutdown with multiple levels, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown protection with hysteresis, and overcurrent limiting. The part also features an adjustable overload protection and optional remote sense for additional output stability. The device requires a minimum operating voltage of 6V and a maximum operating voltage of 24V to function properly.
At the heart of the AN8006M-E1 is an innovative linear voltage regulator consisting of a power transistor and resistor network. The regulator operates by using a negative feedback loop to compare the output voltage to a precision reference voltage.
