AOZ1021AIL is a low-cost, synchronous step-down regulator with excellent performance, suitable for space-constrained applications. This device features high power density and output current up to 5A, making it a great choice for small, low-cost applications like consumer, industrial and medical systems. The AOZ1021AIL is a fully integrated DC-to-DC synchronous step-down regulator with integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, as well as control logic, current sensing and compensation circuitry. It also features a broad input voltage range of 4.5V to 25V, from 4V to 60V, and a wide output voltage range from 0.9V to 15V.

The power MOSFETs provide a low ESR Rds(on) for lower conduction losses, thereby reducing the power dissipated in the heat sink. This helps reduce the overall system cost and improve efficiency. The AOZ1021AIL is available with selectable Fixed Frequency Control (FFC) or Burst Mode Control (BMC). With FFC, the AOZ1021AIL operates at a fixed frequency of 350KHz and the output voltage is adjusted by the external compensation components. With BMC, the AOZ1021AIL operates in a cycle-by-cycle variable frequency and the output voltage is adjusted using an external feedback component. The BMC mode also has a Light Load Detection (LD) mode which increases the efficiency at light load conditions.

The AOZ1021AIL has a Built In Soft Start (ISS) which First reduces the output voltage slowly to help prevent overshoot until the optimal output voltage is reached. Also, there is an integrated voltage positioning control that helps in reducing the dynamic response time, for applications with fast transient response requirements.The AOZ1021AIL also features an integrated Over-Temperature Protection (OT) circuit which turns off the output in case of too high device temperature.

The AOZ1021AIL supports Dual Level OVLO to prevent input undervoltage and overvoltage issues and an integrated loop compensation circuit. Those two features help to reduce external components and reduce the configuration time. The AOZ1021AIL comes in an 8-lead TSOT23A thermal enhanced package.
