AOZ1235QI-01 Application Field And Working Principle

The AOZ1235QI-01 is a high-performance integrated step down regulator, intended for voltage-sensitive devices such as CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs and memories in high current, low voltage applications. The device is comprised of a power MOSFET, an inductor, and an integrated DC-DC controller capable of producing a programmable output voltage as low as 0.45V from a wide input voltage range. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.45V to 5.5V.

Its primary application field is PMIC (Power Management IC) for voltage regulation and power conversion in embedded and telecom systems. Working Principle

The AOZ1235QI-01 follows a basic buck (step-down) architecture in which a voltage is input from a DC source, then regulated and outputted to the load. The device uses an external power MOSFET to switch the power from the input to the output in order to regulate the voltage. An inductor is required between the input and the output for filtering purposes and to allow for the regulation of the output voltage. When the voltage reference signal is greater than the current sense signal, a logic high will be sent and the MOSFET will be turned on. The current sense signal is compared and the inductor will be charged. When the voltage reference signal is lower than the current sense signal, the MOSFET will be turned off and the inductor will turn the charge into current to the output.

The AOZ1235QI-01 can operate in both constant-current (CC) and constant-voltage (CV) modes. In constant-current mode, the output stage is regulated to a fixed current. In constant-voltage mode, the output voltage is regulated to a fixed voltage. This dual mode ensures stable and regulated voltage, meeting the application’s requirements.
