AOZ2003PI Application Field and Working Principle

The AOZ2003PI is a low dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator designed for a wide range of applications such as point-of-load (POL), Graphics Card Power, and motor control systems, with three output voltage ranges including 1.2V to 5.5V, 2.6V to 5.5V, and 2.6V to 6V. It has a maximum quiescent current of 1.5mA and a maximum load current of 1.5A. The AOZ2003PI is designed with a low dropout voltage of 250mV at 1.5A, allowing the input voltage to be as low as 1.2V and operating temperature range is from −40°C to +125°C.

This device features an adjustable output and fast turn-on low quiescent current (<1.5mA). It offers excellent line and load regulation characteristics, good transient response, and fast ripple rejection. The output voltage can be adjusted from 1.2V to 6V with 0.4V steps. And due to its low quiescent current, it offers high efficiency and ensures that the system power consumption is low.

The working principle of the AOZ2003PI is based on an innovative circuit architecture.
