- BA17812CP-E2 Application Field and Working Principle
BA17812CP-E2 is a high-performance voltage regulator designed by ROHM Semiconductor integrated with the SANYO chip. The integrated circuit features high output current, wide input and output voltage range, and low noise. This voltage regulator has found a wide range of applications in small voltage adjustable power supply, flashing light, three-legged regulated power supply, external power supply for large amount of electric motors and other linear regulated power supply for household appliances.
The working principle of this voltage regulator can be divided into two steps. The first step is voltage sample and voltage feedback. The input voltage will be sampled by the voltage divider which is composed of a high value resistor and a low value resistor. This sample is sent to the voltage feedback junction in order to compare the output voltage with the preset voltage. If the output voltage is different from the preset voltage, a corrective action will be taken.
The second step is the regulaion of the output voltage. In this step, a feedback voltage is amplified by a certain factor, then the gain is when input voltage is different, this voltage will be summed with output voltage, the sum of these two voltages forms the control signal of the dynamic impedance. When the control signal increase, the impedance of the circuit decreases and the output voltage will be decreasing. When the control signal decreases, the impedance of the circuit increases and with that the output voltage will increase.
Finally, depending on the input voltage and output voltage, an appropriate feedback voltage is generated by the feedback voltage and sent to the dynamic impedance for adjustment, thus the desired output voltage can be reached. The BA17812CP-E2 voltage regulator has the features of high efficiency, low ESR capacitance, and low standby current, those features has made it suitable for wide range of applications such as industrial equipment and consumer electronics.
