PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuits) can be broadly classified into Voltage Regulators, DC-DC Switching Regulators and Accessories. DC-DC Switching Regulators route power to the system, maintains supply voltage and protects a device from damage if it is overloaded or over charged due to a voltage spike or surge. A DC-DC switching regulator is a power conversion circuit comprised of several stages used to provide a stable and constant output voltage from an input voltage source.
