Working Principle:
BQ24109RHLT utilizes synchronous boost converter technology to regulate the charging current. As the input charging current increases its output current follows and the output voltage will stay constant until the charge current reaches the over-charging limit. In linear charge mode, the controller controls the input current through an internal pulse width modulation (PWM) signal. This signal is generated by comparing the battery voltage with pre-programmed voltage levels. When the battery voltage reaches its programmed voltage set-points, the controller will automatically switch the operation mode for the charging application.
The controller contains circuitry to detect conditionals, show errors and protect the battery from over-charging.
